“Ain’t nothin’ happen with us. I never really say nothin’ negative about him, but he’s on my sh*t list right now … I’m very upset with him these days. I usually uphold him and try to keep him in the best light possible. I’m really not feeling him right now and he really needs to get his sh*t together.”

DEBBIE ALLEN: Bringing Her Black ‘Cat’ to Broadway
By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices

It’s official.
Debbie Allen is coming back to Broadway.
It’s not as an actress (like with ‘Street Charity’) or a dancer (‘West Side Story’) though; it’s as director of an ambitious African-American spin on Tennessee Williams‘ classic ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.’
The BV Newswire has learned that the ‘Fame’ star will helm the much-buzzed about production, set to star performances the week of Feb. 11, 2008 at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre.
“I am thrilled to stand at the helm of this unique production as we navigate our way through Tennessee Williams’ riveting and explosive American classic,” Allen said. “Cat, said to be his favorite of his many plays, achieves a timeless coherence with its characters as they wrestle with the universal struggles of life, love, money, sex and death.”
Sexiest Man Alive
With the addition of Brian McKnight starring in the hit Broadway musical ‘Chicago,’ things went a little dark on The Great White Way over the past month.
Word is that Halle Berry’s K-Fraud Gabriel Aubry does not plan on moving in LA to raise their child, but wants to live in New York to continue pursuing his modeling career instead. Apparently, Halle is not happy with the situation:
“She’s been shocked by the news. Halle had always assumed Gabriel would move to the west coast so they could live together as one happy family. If Gabriel stays in New York, it’ll mean long separations. She knows their relationship won’t survive and has been begging him to change his mind. Halle hardly knew her own dad and they were still estranged at the time of his death, so she’s desperate for her daughter to have a father she sees regularly.”
We told you something shady was going on with that Gabriel character a long time ago, it was just a matter of time…

Fresh off the heels of releasing her long-awaited memoir ‘Grace Will Lead Me Home,’ Robin Givens has landed a new TV gig.
Mike Tyson’s former wife has been cast alongside Madchen Amick and Emma Lung in the Lifetime pilot ‘The Verdict.’
According to The Hollywood Reporter the Lionsgate project centers on the “crime of the century” trial of a beloved pop star who has been accused of having her lover murdered.
Givens will play Ayira, the pop singer/supermodel-turned-mogul on trial for allegedly having her lover/personal trainer killed by her bodyguard.
Amick will play Christine, a talented assistant D.A. assigned to the case. Christine juggles her first high-profile trial with her marriage to a media dynasty heir. Lung will play Fiona, a British news reporter covering the case.

Luda, or as others know him, the Atlanta rapper Ludacris has established himself in Hollywood with a few roles on the big screen. But the artist, who is currently on set with bags of fake blood and flying rubber body parts, has never been a part of a project like this. Luda’s signed on to be a part of a new action movie from the makers of Crank, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, according to Movieweb.com. The film, which is yet to be titled, is set seven years in the future. Prisoners are implanted with brain microchips and played by other free humans in a mass, multi-player game. The prisoners provide for the ultimate gaming experience with players manipulating them in a first-person shooter format. The objective of the game, as a free human, is to win 30 games and earn freedom for the prisoner who is being played. Ludacris’ character is part of a resistance group called Humanz that is protesting the way the prisoners are being used. Opposite Luda is young actor Logan Lerman, who plays a free human whose prisoner, Kable rebels; attempting to regain his identity, destroy the system that has overtaken him and the other prisoners’ minds and free himself from the control of the human players. |
